Outdoor fun is just that...

We have this huge yard for kids of all ages to romp around in. With different activities going on, we can meet the wants and needs of each child in their developmental levels.

This little guy just learned he could climb on top of our sand box. Yes he gave me a bit of heartburn for the moment, but he was so proud of himself for making it. He had lots of smiles while being on top.

Tunnels and climbing structures for all ages of children who visit my daycare. Plenty of safe areas to play too.

Bikes and scooters are among the many options we have for your children to play, grow and learn with outside.

We have games for the older children to play with too. The babies seem to love the older kids games, especially ladders.

We try to involve all the children in their individual likes. If they like sports, we have that. If they like nature, we have that too. Next summer we will have gardening.

How can you not love these cuties.

I love seeing this little guy walking. He started this at our daycare.

Our bubble machine is always a big hit with the babies. They will try to use whatever tool they can hold to pop the balloons. This has become a moment to teach toys safety.

My children are great with all the children who visit Faith Foundations Family Child Care. They will engage with all the children and are most helpful in the overall child development.

Back in the swing of things

We have started our school year curriculum. In the busyness we are making a few adjustments, but adhering as much to our schedule as possible. Our focus this week and Big Idea is God is Lord. We learned how God is our helper, creator, healer, provider, friend, confidant, and so much more. We have started back up with our calendar and reviewing math. We have started learning how to write or reviewing how to write our letters, names and numbers. We are also working on recognizing patterns and creating our own patterns using Cuisinaire Rods. These are fun manipulatives to begin to learn from.

Fun, fun days to come. Check back often. I will be taking pictures of our playground and posting them tomorrow. Friday will prove interesting as a permanent cable line will be getting buried into the ground. I will post pictures of the kids watching. They had fun asking questions with the gentleman who marked where all the electrical lines were at.

August is Almost Here

It may not seem like a big deal, but here at Faith Foundations Family Child Care we begin our school year curriculum. Our schedule for outside time and meals times will still remain for the summer months, however we will begin our full on curriculum for the school year. The children will not only learn their ABC's. They will be learning numbers, patterns, social studies and science. We will be doing Bible time and reading. Top that off with arts and crafts and you have our week. Sounds like a lot - well it is, but we do this on a rotating schedule. At least two subjects will be taught in a day.

Currently our summer time schedule is as follows:

7am-8:30am

Children eat as they come in. When they have finished eating, they are able to go in the daycare room and do independent play.

8:30-9am

Bible time

9-10am

Circle time. Here we will learn our letter, number, pattern, calendar, shape, and weather for the day/week/month.

10-10:45am

*Outside time. If it rains, the children are able to play on the covered porch just to get fresh air.

10:45-11:30am

Craft time/Independent play/Curriculum Activity

11:30-12:30pm

Lunch. I believe that a child should not rush eating. This is our opportunity to gather together and sit at the table as a unit. Lots of good conversations take place at our meals times and I try to gather everyone together. This builds some level of unity.

12:30-2:30/3pm

This is quiet/nap time. If your child does not go to sleep, they do have an option to lay quietly with a book.

3-3:30pm

Afternoon snack.

3:30-4:30pm

*Outside time/Independent play or movie time.

4:30-6pm

Late evening snack and independent play.

After 6pm, we begin our normal family routine.

*I hold safety at the highest regards. If the temperatures are below 40 and above 90 with the heat/chill indexes, we do not go outside.

If your child does not go to sleep, I will get them up at 2pm

Our meals follow the USDA recommendations and most times exceed the minimum standards.

This schedule changes in October. I will be posting the winter schedule at that time.

Our New Daycare Room

Moving is always so crazy, but we have blessed with an official daycare room. This room goes beyond a playroom. It is where we will play, laugh, learn, sleep and have fun.

This is the front right corner (if you're facing it) Here you can see our Home Corner. The children can pretend to play house. They can play with the babies too. You can also see where we place some of the children's cubbies. This is where they will keep their personal belongings.

You can also see our Book Nook. Here rests our puzzles, book and stuffies. Sometimes a good book isn't good unless you have a friend to curl up with while reading it.

Just to the right of the Book Nook, you can see all our cars and trucks.

In the back left corner (if you're facing it), you will find our Big Builders Corner. With our blocks and legos, your child's imagination will have no limitations.

You can see our creature chairs with a table between them. This is our social spot. Kids can bring items from other stations to this spot to share with others or just to have a comfortable spot to play at.

In the back you can see our 2 Pack-n-Plays. Between them is a changing table. Above are the cubbies of our babies. Their personal belongings and diapers, creams, and wipes are stored here.

This is the back right corner. Again, you can see the Pack-n-Plays. You also have the toy box. This contains all those things that don't really fall into any of the other stations.

The hutch (When organized completely) will hold our paper, glue and manipulatives that the babies cannot have. It will also hold extra blankets, bibs and spit clothes. This is my working progress.

Ahhhhh, our Learning Center. This is where we will do our "Circle Time". We will learn our shapes, patterns, letters, numbers, calendar, weather and so, so much more. By the doorway, you can see our dress-up bucket. We are always looking to add to this, so if you have old Halloween costumes you are not using, we would love to put them to good use.

The closet holds all our board games and extra supplies. You would be amazed by all we were able to place in this closet. It was what decided this room to be our Daycare room.

If you are looking for a quality daycare, please give Faith Foundations Family Child Care consideration. We would love to have your children join us here.

Some Assembly Required

We have recently moved our location. Organizing the playroom is underway. There is one side of the room dedicated exclusively to pack-n-plays for the babies to sleep. We will have a building corner, a book nook with puzzles and stuffies, home corner, riding and push toys, and learning spot. I believe this is going to be great. Please keep the daycare in your prayers as we have now been given the opportunity to expand. This move has brought us one step closer to being licensed. Praise be to the Lord our God. I will post pictures when it is finished.

We're Moving

We are moving. Our new location is in Midlothian just off from Hull. This is very exciting for us because we will have a new playroom. This is also our next step to becoming licensed. God is blessing our daycare daily. I am truly amazed at how quickly things have gone and truly give glory to God. I will post pictures by the end of the week of the all new playroom. It will be the first to be unpacked and made comfortable for the kids to play in.
