The Busy World of Faith Foundations

Our favorite part of the morning is "Circle Time". But we enjoy going outside even more. Here are some pictures of some of the many activities we do throughout the day.

We use our imagination outside with the "Ancient Castle"

We like to jump on the climbing structures.

Then help our friends slide down.

We like to make sand castles and pretend to make food.

Sorry parents if they begin to color on your walls, but this is how we passed a rainy day by.

A few strips of parchment/butcher's paper taped to the wall with washable crayons entertained them for quite some time.

This was a great way to work with the babies on their writing skills, but letting them have fun in the process.

Ms. Amy never let us do this before. I love the look in their eyes.

We didn't get in trouble! This was so much fun!

We even practiced our names.

Sensory Idea

We made Rainbow Rice

Step 1: Measure 1/2 Cup of White Long Grain Rice into a Sandwich Baggie

Step 2: Fill as many baggies as you desire for colors. We did a baggie for each color in the rainbow because we have been learning about Noah and the Ark.

Step 3: Add 6 drops of desired food color in each baggie. If you have to combine colors (ex: blue and red to get purple, split the color drops up to total 6 drops)

Step 4: Shake, massage and mix the bag of rice in with the food color

Step 5: Spread rice on a cookie sheet to dry

I mixed the colors, but you can keep them separated if you choose. I recommend if you choose to keep them separated, place each color on a plate to dry.

We discussed the various colors that were mixed together.

It's completely non-toxic. This is good especially if one certain little decides uncooked rice makes for a perfect snack.

Get creative to make sensory time fun.

Sit and show the children what they can do with their sensory item.

Rice on tile or linoleum floor becomes something similar to ice when you step on it.

Exercise caution.

My babies at church loved this activity too.

What a way to teach them to share and see the colors God gives us every day.

It's a wonderful way to teach about God's promise to Noah and the gift He gave to Noah through a rainbow.

Random Photos of What We Do

I decided to do a post of random pictures. Not every day is themed based. We do lots of things in any given week.

We play with bubbles.

Sit down for breakfast together. Our prayer is a simple one and everyone places their hands together.

Outside time is always a blast.

We make forts under the climbing structures.

We explore our canvas tunnels.

We even dig for treasures.

It's a fun game to run away from Ms. Amy.

It's a good time to learn how to walk.

Sometimes, Ms. Amy has to sit sentry so certain little boys will stop playing and go to sleep.

We love to explore our food.

And sharing birthday cake is awesome!

More cake, please.

We take field trips to Dairy Queen. It's a quick walk down the road.

We like to play with the toys in the tub located in the living room.

Feeding the piggy bank is always fun.

Quiet time at last.

We always have a fun-filled day here at Faith Foundations Family Child Care. We have circle time to learn our calendar, sing songs and learn our letters and numbers. We learn shapes and colors too. With 5 friends to share our day with, it is always fun and never a dull moment.
